The flag football database Talkin Flag has built — and the TF Rank behind it — is designed to give athletes, coaches, and scouts a credible, searchable source of truth for a sport that's growing faster than its infrastructure.
Flag football is growing faster than any other team sport in the United States — and internationally, it's tracking toward its Olympic debut at LA 2028. But the sport still lacks the infrastructure that sports like basketball and soccer take for granted: centralized, accurate, publicly accessible player data.
That's the gap Talkin Flag is building into.
The Talkin Flag player database currently indexes over 374 athletes across high school, college, and national team levels. Every profile is sourced from one of three pipelines:
1. Official rosters — USA Football, IFAF, and national federation published rosters. We verify against primary sources and do not invent athletes. 2. Public indexes — Reference profiles sourced from publicly available databases (like flagsonly.com), tagged with their origin and marked unclaimed until an athlete verifies ownership. 3. Self-submitted profiles — Athletes submit their own profiles via our Submit Profile form. Stats can be verified by coaches or scouts.
The goal isn't to be exhaustive from day one. It's to be accurate first, and to build trust so that athletes, coaches, and scouts know that what they find here is real.
The TF Rank is a 0–100 composite score designed to surface the most complete flag football athletes — not just the ones with the biggest social following or the most YouTube views.
It weights three categories:
The full 100-point rubric is being finalized by Ambra and Tika Marcucci, who bring both elite playing experience (24+ international caps between them) and doctoral training in psychology to the evaluation framework. Until the rubric is published, TF Ranks appear as provisional estimates on profiles that have been manually reviewed.
Flag football's growth creates real problems for athletes: there's no obvious way for a college coach to find a high school prospect they've never met, no way for a national team selector to track emerging talent outside their existing network, and no way for an athlete in Panama or Italy to be seen by programs in the US.
The Talkin Flag player database and team rankings are our infrastructure answer to that problem. Combined with the podcast — where we've had 39+ conversations with elite athletes, coaches, founders, and doctors — it creates a complete hub for anyone serious about flag football at the highest levels.
